ISPS-US (The International Society for the Psychological Treatment of the Schizophrenias and Other Psychoses) has agreed to publish a book I co-wrote and co-edited with my colleague Daniel Mackler.  The book is entitled, "A Way Out of Madness:  Dealing with Your Family After You've Been Diagnosed with a Psychiatric Disorder."  While many books have been written to help family members support a loved one in crisis, strangely there are none to help the psychiatrically diagnosed person to deal with his or her family.

I think psychoanalytic thought is the coolest thing ever.  Why?  Because it offers the most sophisticated model of why we come to be who we are and how lasting change is achieved.  So I recently started the year-long Child Psychotherapy Seminar at a local psychoanalytic institute in order to further enrich my thinking about my work with kids and adolescents.
